Today we tilled the gardens with some Miracle Gro garden soil, and added Preen. We'll see how that works, adding it a little earlier this year! It says it can be applied again in 9 weeks.
I also bought the first plants today, a beautiful hanging basket and grape tomato plant from The Bruce Co. The shopping begins! I really need to find shade plants for the back corner, in doing some research it looks like in addition to impatiens I should look for alyssum, lobelia, nicotiana and pansies. Cleome also do well in the shade, for the back of that section.
The zinnias are growing like crazy, hopefully they will be ready to plant within two weeks.
